Job-Specific Requirements:

  • Consistently delivers superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills in order to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Reliable transportation to and from job site required
  • Possesses experience with the application or theory of art supplies/drafting supplies
  • Accurately handles cash flow
  • Ability to work independently and with others

About the role:

As a Sales Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service to clients seeking supplies, creative advice, rentals, framing/printing services, and more. You will work closely with each department, filling in areas as needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, patient, detail-oriented, and not afraid to ask for help. Previous experience with art supply retail or art application is strongly encouraged. Customer service and strong communication skills are integral parts of this position. Strong time-management and the ability to work independently and on a team are crucial aspects to this role.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Corresponds with clients in a timely and appropriate manner (including in-person, email, phone, etc.). Handles all orders and provides realistic timelines with accurate pricing and availability.
  • Displays an energetic and positive attitude with all customer interactions.
  • Provides knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions to customers seeking supplies and services.
  • Accurately tracks all inventory and backstock.
  • Maintains a tidy and organized workspace. Practices housekeeping around the shop as needed.
  • Adheres to attendance policy.
  • Understands and acts on the procedures required for reporting low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed.
  • Follows directions and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines as assigned with minimal supervision.

  • Previous experience with retail and customer service.
  • Maintains an awareness of department spending and cashflow.
  • Works backstock; ensures that displays are well-stocked and tidy.
  • Provides customer with deadline expectations and meets them.
  • Skills to work independently, effectively manage own time, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keeps up-to-date with industry and company standards. Shares information with others.
  • Basic math and computation skills required; able to use measuring tools.
  • Skills to read, understand, and follow through on verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet needs of the business. Must have Saturday availability.
  • Ability to reliably meet required work schedule and adhere to company attendance policy
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and stand/walk/move for 8 hour shift
